Stereotypes
By Shannon Dowdle

Walking down
the halls everyday
I see those girls
look me  up and down.

I never understood why
high schoolers
put labels on each other.
Prep
       Jock
               Nerd
                       and Goth
I guess
that's how humans are.
We seperate
by differences
The truth is
we judge by what we know,
and we see a difference
when one person
wears abercrombie
and the other
dresses in black.

We hang with who we know
and stick to that group.
Why go out
and talk to new people
who are different
than you.
Who have different
personalities and styles.
Who might actually teach you,
something new about life.
I guess that's something
you don't learn
in the classroom.
